PROMOTING SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT
Orbis is removing single use plastics from it's supply chain by the end of 2021 as well as continuing school projects in Nepal and Malawi as part of support towards the UN Sustainable Development Goals
We are committed to becoming a leader in driving sustainability forward in the MEA region. By ensuring that each of the UN goals are considered for new relationship and project that we start and then measuring progress annually to ensure we are on track. Our revolutionary kraft card and corn starch coffee tube is currently on trial and available to purchase online.
ORBIS HAS SELECTED 3 GOALS
related to the UN Sustainable Development Goals
GOAL 2 - SUPPORTING LOCAL FARMERS
Support Local Farmers, zero hunger
After decades of steady decline, the number of people who suffer from hunger – as measured by the prevalence of undernourishment – began to slowly increase again in 2015.
Today, more than 820 million people regularly go to bed hungry, of whom about 135 million suffer from acute hunger largely due to man-made conflicts, climate change and economic downturns.
The COVID-19 pandemic could now double that number, putting an additional 130 million people at risk of suffering acute hunger by the end of 2020, according to the World Food Programme.
GOAL 5 - GENDER EQUALITY
Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls
Gender equality is not only a fundamental human right, but a necessary foundation for a peaceful, prosperous and sustainable world.
There has been progress over the last decades: More girls are going to school, fewer girls are forced into early marriage, more women are serving in parliament and positions of leadership, and laws are being reformed to advance gender equality.
GOAL 14 - OCEAN HEALTH #nomoreplastic
Conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas and marine resources
Saving our ocean must remain a priority. Marine biodiversity is critical to the health of people and our planet. Marine protected areas need to be effectively managed and well-resourced and regulations need to be put in place to reduce overfishing, marine pollution and ocean acidification.

PREMIUM BOUTIQUE COFFEE, DISCERNING DRINKERS, FUN
Full bodied, smooth and aromatic
By establishing long term relationships with coffee growers we have found that over the years our coffee supply has got better and more consistent. We try to visit every location every two years to ensure that the relationship runs strong with a particular focus on Indonesia, India, Kenya and Ethiopia. The end result is that we produce full bodied, smooth and aromatic coffees from some of the best coffee growing regions of the world.

Working in the community
Harar, Eastern Ethiopia
The Harar region of Ethiopia produces some of the most distinctive coffees in the world. Due to climate change much of the region is experiencing drastic changes to rainfall patterns and temperature variations. Orbis is working with local communities to preserve heirloom seeds for replanting in alternative locations once growing become untenable. Some are saying this may be as little as seventy growing cycles as climate change takes effect.
